Burning scented candles is something that many people find addictive. It can become quite an expensive habit though. In order to offset some of the costs associated with this relatively harmless addiction, I like to look for cheap scented candles. Best and cheap aren’t usually two words that go together. I think there is often something to be said for sacrificing a brand name in favour of a generic alternative. It’s good to strike a balance between cost and quality.

Home Bargains is usually my first choice for scented candles as it stocks luxury scented candles from a company called Wickford & Co. These candles are the best Yankee Candle alternatives I’ve found so far. The 18oz large jar candles are only £2.99 and they can burn for up to 95 hours. I’ve tried a few of the Wickford & Co. scented candles and I’ve been impressed by them all.

Budget Yankee Candle Alternative

I think the Wickford & Co. large jar scented candles are a budget freindly Yankee Candle alternative. Even the fragrance is a Yankee dupe because they also have a Gingerbread fragrance in their Christmas candle range!

Large jar Yankee Candles burn for up to 150 hours which gives over 50% more burn time than the Wickford & Co. large jar scented candles. It goes without saying that Yankee Candles are amazing. You certainly pay for that amazingness with the usual RRP being around £21.99 though. The cost of a Wickford & Co. candle works out at about 14% of the usual Yankee Candle RRP.

Best Cheap Scented Christmas Candle?

This Wickford & Co. large jar Gingerbread scented candle smells beautifully authentic with its instantly recognisable sweet and spicy fragrance. It makes my home smell like I’ve just taken a batch of freshly baked gingerbread men out of the oven! The fragrance is strong enough to fill the living room and it carries slightly throughout the rest of my house. I like that the scent even lingers for a while after burning.

I would highly recommend this Wickford & Co. large jar Gingerbread scented candle as despite its budget busting price tag, it’s certainly up there as one of my personal all time favourite scented candles. It’s ideal for the festive season and although I’m probably burning this a bit too early, I just can’t resist! Besides, I’ve already purchased a back up (or two!) to burn closer to Christmas!

If your interested in trying a cheap Yankee Candle alternative, I would suggest you pop to Homebargains and get one of these. I’m tempted to try some of the autumnal Bath and Body Works dupe scented candles that have launched in B&M stores recently as I’ve seen so many bloggers saying very good things about them!
