Beauty Empties / October 2016

Beauty Empties / October 2016. Soap & Glory, Garnier, Aussie, Seventeen, The Body Shop, Dermalogica, Lancome & Snowberry.

Is it just me or does anyone else really enjoy beauty empties?

I normally do empties videos over on my YouTube channel. Today, I thought I’d post about them here for those of you interested in seeing my October makeup and beauty empties!

Let the Beauty Empties begin…

Beauty Empties / October 2016. Soap & Glory, Garnier, Aussie, Seventeen, The Body Shop, Dermalogica, Lancome & Snowberry.

Soap & Glory The Righteous Body Butter

Soap & Glory is a fantastic brand that most of us beauty bloggers absolutely love and it’s easy to see why! The Righteous Body Butter is one of their original products and it’s still one of their most popular.

It’s a richly moisturising cream made with plenty of Shea Butter, Coconut Oil and Cocoa Seed Oil.

The fragrance is mind-blowing! It’s described as: ‘Leafy greens, bergamot and mandarin, with a floral and fruity middle note that makes your nose tingle a little, followed by soft, sexy, musk, oakmoss, amber and woody notes’.

I love this product and it’s undoubtedly something you will have seen in my beauty empties before. It’s something I have repurchased and will continue to stock up on when there’s a good deal in Boots!

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

This is a product that I’ve grown very fond of recently. It’s the second bottle I’ve used up and I’m already on my third now!

This does a fabulous job of removing makeup and even works great on mascara. It’s gentle and doesn’t dry out my skin, makes a good first or second cleanse and refreshes bare skin on no-makeup days.

A little goes a long way so even the 125 ml travel bottle lasts a long time and the 400 ml full size bottle practically lasts f-o-r-e-v-e-r!

Aussie Luscious Long Hair Shampoo

Aussie products are a staple in my haircare routine. They’re cheap but work brilliantly. I have looooong hair so this product caught my attention as it’s just what my hair needs.

I don’t wash my hair very often so when I do, I need something that can thoroughly cleanse my roots without drying out the ends. My hair feels silky soft after using this and there’s also a visible reduction in frizz and flyaways!

I’ve already repurchased this and I’m enjoying the matching conditioner too.

Seventeen Miracle Matte Pressed Powder

Okay, no surprised here! I love this pressed powder and have used it for years. I must have used up at least 30 of these so it’s no surprise to see it in my empties again.

It’s a mattifying powder that reduces shine and keeps makeup set in place for longer. The shade Ivory Porcelain is great for Pale skin tones as it’s very light but not pure white! It’s finely milled and doesn’t go cakey.

It comes in a handy mirrored compact and is cheap! It’s £3.99 in Boots and Seventeen makeup is regularly on a 3-4-2 offer which is when I stock up!

The Body Shop Elderflower Unperfumed Eye Gel

The Body Shop have some lovely facial skincare products and this is one of my personal favourites.

Although this product is basic, it works a treat. It’s a lightweight, unperfumed eye gel. It feels cooling when applied and keeps the delicate under eye area nicely hydrated.

I haven’t repurchased this yet but I would happily buy it again in the future.

Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream

I busted out this Dermalogica sample after my skin reacted very badly to something… (possibly the Snowberry Serum). I had loads of sore, dry flaky skin and this product helped to rehydrate my skin with zero irritation.

All of the products I’ve tried from Dermalogica so far have been absolutely spot on! I can see why they have such a fabulous reputation.

I would be happy to purchase pretty much anything from Dermalogica and this skin smoothing cream is no exception. Dermalogica is a pricey brand that’s a bit out of my budget at the moment but maybe one day I’ll have to splurge…

Lancome Genifique Serum

This was a sample that I enjoyed using as I’ve heard so many good things about this product.

The serum felt lightweight and it plumped out my skin leaving it feeling nicely rejuvenated. I would also be interested in trying a full size version of this as my first impressions are positive.

Snowberry Intensive Renewal Facial Serum

This was a product left me feeling unimpressed. It was too harsh and I think it irritated my skin quite a bit.

It’s hard to know based on my one time experience but I suspect that this was a product that my skin reacted very badly to. My skin was tingling and almost burning when I applied it and afterwards I had severly dry skin that was flaky and peeling for over a week. It was almost like I got a chemical burn and this product may have been the cause. Even if it wasn’t the cause, I’m pretty sure it didn’t help.

My skin typically doesn’t react well to liquid exfoliants and this has some fairly acidic ingredients…

This sample hasn’t inspired me to buy a full-size version. Snowberry products aren’t exactly cheap either so I wouldn’t waste my money on something that might cause my skin to react badly resulting is over a week of discomfort.

That’s it for my October Beauty Empties! What beauty empties are in your bin this month?
