Kleenex Shine Absorbing Sheets Blotting Paper

(Last Updated: November 2018) Hello, Beauties! Welcome to this review of Kleenex Shine Absorbing Sheets (50 Sheets).

Kleenex Shine Absorbing Sheets

I recommend purchasing these when on offer from Superdrug £1.49 or ASDA £1.50 (Approx 3p per sheet). (£2.99 rrp) EDIT: As of 2014, these are now available in Homebargains for £0.29p!

Product Description: Kleenex Shine Absorbing Sheets

These Kleenex Shine Absorbing Sheets are powder free and can be used to ‘dab away excess oil and keep your makeup intact’.

Positives

They are really dainty and can easily be carried around in your handbag. – They are pretty and feminine.

They work well and absorb excess oil whilst leaving make-up intact.

Negatives

Only the purple shiny side of the sheet absorbs excess oil whilst the other side is very decorative and looks like the side you would use. I tried to use the wrong side by mistake a few times before I realised!

You may need to use more than one sheet at a time as only one side absorbs excess oil and it can get used up quickly.

Tips

After you have applied foundation, you could experiment by using one of these sheets to blot away any excess oil at this stage, hopefully helping to prevent excess oil appearing later on in the day. Excess oil can not only make your skin look shiny and make your makeup slip off, but it can also react with your foundation causing it to oxidise and change colour! Excess facial oil can also contribute to blocked pores which in turn can lead to spots appearing.

If you have oily skin, a pressed powder is another great product to keep shine at bay. See my review of the Collection Pressed Powder here and see my bargain Boots Miracle Matte Pressed Powder Shopping Haul here.

Summary

These facial tissues are wonderful. They feel luxurious to use and they work. At £1.50 for 50 sheets, they are very reasonably priced. However, they can retail in some outlets for £2.99 (approx 6 pence per sheet) and if you need to use two sheets at a time, it could be costing you up to 12 pence to touch up your make-up! A cheaper alternative could be to take 1 half of a 2 ply tissue or even 1 half of a piece of 2 ply toilet roll and gently blot away your excess facial oil. This does actually work. Afterwards, you can always touch up your make up with a little powder.

I recommend trying Kleenex Shine Absorbing Sheets. However, I alternate between using these sheets for a bit of luxury when I need the best oil-free results and then I implement the thrifty, good old-fashioned option of blotting with 1 half of a 2 ply tissue or toilet roll sheet when I can get away with it!   Please leave a comment below and let me know about how you keep your makeup shine free, especially if your skin is prone to oiliness.
