Lush Lip Balm Review: Honey Trap (Cruelty Free)

LUSH Honey Trap Lip Balm Review UK Beauty Blog

Lip balm is the one beauty product that I can’t live without, and this Honey Trap Lip Balm is Lush!

Lip balm is one of those desert-island skincare products that I need in my life at all times. I apply it often throughout the day, and always just before bed, so it can work overnight. The Lush Honey Trap Balm is something my childhood self would have adored. It’s cutesy fun for grownups, personified!

Did you know Lush is a cruelty-free beauty brand that opened its first store in 1995? Back then, they were a small business. Nowadays, they’re a thriving global organization. What a success story!

Luscious Lip Balm

This Lush Honey Trap Lip Balm is temptingly sweet with white chocolate and honey. It has Shea Butter and Almond Oil and is full of other gorgeous ingredients like Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

Honey to a Bee

The honey aroma is powerful, the White Chocolate subtle. If you like honey, you’ll love this! I can detect vanilla notes in the White Chocolate. There’s also a hint of mint from the Peppermint Oil that gives a pleasant cooling sensation when applied.

The texture isn’t too thick or greasy; great for a buttery balm. It feels light and creamy, before sinking in fast. The consistency is smooth and not sticky. I need to reapply it often as it gradually melts away into nothing. Personally, I’d prefer it to last longer on my lips, but it works well as a light base under lipstick.

The tin packaging is cute, but it loses a few brownie points for having the less hygienic finger application method.

Nectar Sweet Luxury

Honey Trap retails for £7.50 for 12g. It’s pricey, as are most products from LUSH. But is it worth it? Yes, as a treat, but maybe not to repurchase all the time.

I don’t see this as a lip balm; I see it as happiness. This little balm brings me joy every time I use it. It’s such a charming little pot of balm!

It’s cruelty-free, although not entirely vegan, because of the honey and beeswax. But the White Chocolate in this recipe is indeed vegan.
