That perfectly contoured eye shadow look is something that many of us aspire to create with our everyday eye make. But defining the crease and blending out to create a seamless and natural look is easier said than done without the correct tools! In the past, I’ve attempted to create detailed eye looks using just the plastic sponge tip applicators that were included with the product only to be left feeling a little bit disappointed with the results!

There are a lot of makeup brushes around these days that don’t cost a fortune and are capable of performing really well. Also, because makeup brushes can last for many years, they are definitely a worthwhile investment in my opinion. Since I ditched the sponge tip applicators in favour of some good eye makeup brushes a few years ago, I’ve certainly never looked back!

The latest additions that have found their way into my makeup brush collection are these three Nanshy eye makeup brushes. There’s a tapered crease brush, an eye crease brush and a blending eyeshadow brush. I picked these becasue they are all designed for crease work and I’ve been looking for ways to improve my eye shadow application in that area for a while now. I’ve found that these are well suited to crease work and they make it easier to create a contoured eye shadow look.

These brushes are stylish, the hair feels soft, the handles feel sturdy and have a lovely pearl effect coating, they are hand constructed and perhaps best of all, they haven’t shed a single hair so far! I find that they are a good size to work with as some eye makeup brushes can be rather large which makes it difficult to be precise. If you have smaller eyes like me, I think that these brushes would be particularly well suited to your needs.

They are also made from synthetic materials making them 100% cruelty free. Being synthetic, they have the further advantage of being naturally antibacterial and that is a strong selling point for something that is intended to be used so close to the eye area on a daily basis as there has been much talk in the media of bacteria from makeup causing nasty eye infections recently.

Overall, I’m really impressed with these. I think that having the right tools to apply your makeup with goes a long way towards improving the overall finished look of your makeup.

Where can you find these brushes? These three brushes are from a set of 7 which retails for £29.95. It’s available online from Beauty Store 4 U and Amazon.

What are your favourite eye makeup brushes / tools?
