March Beauty Favourites 2015

Makeup and Beauty Favourites from March

– Seba Med Cleansing Bar 150g // £2.99 // Available from Weldricks
This is a gentle soap free cleansing bar that I picked up nearly a month ago after my skin became very irritated, sensitive and super prone to acne breakouts. This has a PH level of 5.5 making it slightly acidic and not too alkaline which is perfect for protecting the skin’s delicate outer layer known as the acid mantle. It also contains a coconut oil derivative which is anti-microbial and good a reducing skin bacteria that can lead to acne breakouts.
I always think that skin care products can be difficult to review as it takes a while to find out how well something truly works. But so far so good with this! My skin has improved a lot after I started using this and my breakouts have been reduced. I’ll keep you posted on how things keep going!

– Lacura Beauty Lipstick in the shade 160 Dark Cherry // Available from Aldi
This is a beautiful lipstick from Aldi’s Lacura Beauty range. Rumor has it that the Lacura Beauty makeup is manufactured in the same factory used by some high end makeup brands. Judging by the quality of this lipstick, I have to say that I’m inclined to believe that! This is a beautiful shade, it glides on to my lips so easily and the color pay-off is great.

– Max Factor Facefinity All Day Flawless Foundation in the shade Ivory 40 // RRP £12.99 // Available from Boots

This isn’t just a monthly favourite but potentially a bit of an all time favourite too! I really like this foundation as it gives really good coverage, lasts all day, looks natural and the shade Ivory is a great colour match for my pale skin. This also comes in a glass bottle with a pump which makes it a lot more user friendly than my other favourite foundation which is the Revlon Colorstay!

– Max Factor Waterproof False Lash Effect Mascara in the shade Black Brown // RRP £10.99 // Available from Boots
I’m not usually a huge fan of waterproof mascara as despite the obvious advantages, it’s always a total pain to remove as it usually requires lots of rubbing and tugging at the delicate skin around the eye area which is obviously a big no-no. This mascara is difficult to remove without the right eye makeup remover but once you’ve got that bit figured out, the rest is a breeze. A single layer of this provides a natural look but it can also be layered up to create a rather dramatic amount of length and volume. The brush separates lashes and the brown black colour is less intense and more natural looking than black.
– Max Factor Excess Intensity Longwear Eyeliner in the shade 06 Brown // RRP £6.99 // Available from Boots

As you can tell, I’m really enjoying Max Factor makeup at the moment! I’ve really been gravitating towards them as a brand recently and I’ve discovered some great little products from them. Although a pencil eyeliner can never really be that exciting this one does have pretty much everything I look for in a pencil eyeliner! The formula is creamy and easy to apply, it has great pigmentation and it lasts all day. This brown shade is also quite natural looking and a nice change from the more usual black. The only downside to this pencil is that once you twist it up, it can’t be twisted back down again. Also, like a lot of creamy mechanical pencils, if you twist it up a little bit too much, the end will break off and you’ll waste some product!

So, there are my current faves for the month of March! Can’t believe it’s already the 1st of April tomorrow! Watch out for any cheeky trickery as that means it’s also April Fools’ Day!
