NOTD #4: NYC Spring Tulip & Revlon Stunning

I have a love / hate relationship with nail polish; sometimes I love it and sometimes I hate it! I love taking some time out to pamper myself with a manicure and I love the finished results. However, I hate how long it can take for nail polish to dry and I hate how quickly it usually starts to chip on my nails. However, I’m trying to make a conscious effort to paint my nails more often as I have a rather large stash of nail polish that I need to enjoy using more often!

My most recent manicure utilizes a budget friendly combination of nail polishes. I picked up the NYC In a New York Color Minute Quick Dry Nail Polish in the shade 300 Spring Tulip from Poundworld. In fact, this nail polish actually came in a packet with 2 other NYC nail polishes for only £1. That’s a crazy good bargain! The shade Spring Tulip is so appropriate for the current season of Spring here in the UK. The formula is a little bit runny and the coverage was a little bit streaky but after 3 coats, it looked pretty decent. The dry time was good and the brush was pretty easy to work with. There is 9.7 ml of product in this bottle so that represents really good value for money as it’s a full size product.

The Revlon Nail Enamel in 340 Stunning was something that I was lucky enough to find in Poundland recently. This exact same shade of nail polish is still sold in places like Boots for £6.49, so I’d say that it was quite a good bargain! I actually saved myself a very respectable £5.49 off the RRP. Revlon Stunning is a glitter top coat that contains large round silver holographic glitter and small round silver holographic glitter particles in a clear polish. The finished texture can feel a little bit rough so I like to apply a completely clear polish over the top for a smoother finish. For this manicure, I was feeling posh so I pulled out my much loved Seche Vite which gives the most amazing glossy shine and lasting finish. It also drys super fast which is a massive bonus for me too!

I think that this is a lovely polish combination for Spring and Summer. I also find that having super bright, glittery nails is a fun way to inject some eye-catching colour into any outfit!

What’s on your nails at the moment?
